Why we created Sidomac

I was one of the founders of a software company based in California. Many of our employees were geographically dispersed so it was essential for us to use tools to allow us to communicate and work together. The biggest problem we had was with the bookkeeping.

Firstly, in those days there was no web-based bookkeeping software which could be used by several people logging in from different locations.

Secondly, we had problems perusing our financial statements and tracing it to source documents since many of these documents were in folders, boxes, and emails.

Thirdly, we had a lot of trouble finding good bookkeepers. The service was not standardized. The bookkeepers could not work with a tech savvy, distributed, and paperless business like ours.

The best business to start is one that solves problems you face yourself, right?

So now I have a company that offers an online bookkeeping and document management software which allows users to trace numbers on their financial reports to the very source documents that created them with ease. We also offer standardized, timely, and reliable online bookkeeping solutions to other startups and small businesses using partners all over north america.
